AMCCC asks Govt to demarcate migrants land in Valley

JAMMU, Sept 13: Expressing grave concern over the grabbing of land belonging to Kashmiri Pandits and their religious places by land mafia in Kashmir valley, All Migrant Camp Coordination Committee (AMCCC) urged the Government to take immediate steps in restoration of the encroached land of Pandits in Valley.
The AMCCC which held a meeting here today under the chairmanship of Desh Rattan said that his organization is committed to get this land vacated from the clutches of encroachers. It said that Government was also duty bound to protect the land under Distress Sale of Migrant Properties Act.  He urged the respective Deputy Commissioners who are the custodians of migrant property to ensure the land is nor encroached by land mafia.
Rattan said that his organisation is also collecting details from all migrants about their left over immovable property in Valley and in this regard the people should approach them.
He said in case the Government is really interested in rehabilitation of migrants in Valley it should demarcate their land and other immovable property.
He also demanded that Horticulture Department should be asked to cultivate the migrants’ orchards while the Agriculture University or Agriculture Department should cultivate their agriculture land till the return of Pandits.
