JAMMU, Aug 28: All Migrant Camp Coordination Committee (AMCCC) has appealed the Lt. Governor, Manoj Sinha to revoke the decision regarding merging or engineering wing of Relief organisation with R&B or PHE Departments in the larger interests of the displaced people living in various camps at Jammu.
In a letter to LG, AMCCC said that migrants putting up in indifferent camp and non camps at Jammu will be put to lot of hardships in getting their day to day problems redressed with the merger of engineering with other departments.
The R&B and PHE Departments are pre-occupied with huge load of work in the entire region and they cannot look into the problems of the camps and non camps where migrants are living, the letter added.
It said the problems in the camps and non-camps are altogether different and the Relief Organization is fully well versed of the same. The merger of this wing at this stage will create confusion and disturbance among the common masses living in camps like Jagti township, Nagrota, Purkhoo and two camps of Muthi. These people are already confused and disturbed due to non -implementation of State & Central sponsored schemes in camps & non -camps where migrants are putting up and they are already annoyed over the failure of Government for not solving their problems pending since the date of migration.
The letter signed by AMCCC president, Desh Rattan said that instead of healing wounds of KP migrants the Government is issuing such guidelines & orders which create disturbance and confusion among them, the letter said.
