SRINAGAR, May 30: Northern Army Commander Lt Gen D Anbu today reviewed situation in South Kashmir and took stock of the situation and administrative arrangements for the security of annual Amarnath Yatra.
The Northern chief visited the Army formations and units in South Kashmir, where he was briefed by the field Commanders on the prevailing security situation and the measures instituted to ensure peace and calm.
Which interacting with the troops, Lt Gen Anbu complimented troops for their alertness, initiative and synergy with other security forces which has resulted in conduct of successful operations including the recent operation in which a top Hizbul Mujahideen commander , Sabzar Bhat, was killed.
Lt Gen Anbu along with Chinar Corps Commander Lt Gen JS Sandhu, also took stock of the security and administrative arrangements for the Amarnath Yatra which is commencing from June 29. He stressed upon the need for close coordination with civil administration to ensure a smooth and efficient conduct of the Yatra.
