JAMMU, Oct 20: Up in arms against purported manipulation of Reservation Roster for recruitment in Central University Jammu, activists of Ambedkar Yuva Sangathan today held a strong protest demonstration and demanded immediate removal of the CUJ Vice Chancellor and a thorough probe into the matter.

Holding placards in their hands, the protesting activists raised slogans against the CUJ authorities and appealed the MHRD as well as the Commissions of SC/ST/OBC to take stern action against the guilty of manipulating the Reservation Roster.
R D Thappa, President AYS, said that the CUJ authorities with a criminal intention, changed the Roster of teaching positions and swapped reserved SC, ST and OBC positions with Un-Reserved. “This change in the Roster does not have the approval of competent bodies even as the meeting of the University Executive had taken place in between and the item was kept in the agenda but the same was withdrawn and not discussed for the reasons best known to the VC,” he added.
He further alleged that the reservation positions have been swapped with unreserved and vice-versa for ensuring selection of blue eyed candidates. “The approved Roster was modified and manipulated to suit the interest of favourite candidates. The positions approved and the positions advertised are in contravention of the guidelines of the UGC and the Government of India,” he added.
Protesting members of Ambedkar Yuva Sangathan demanded immediate removal of the CUJ Vice Chancellor and initiation of CBI enquiry against him. “On the one hand Modi Government brought the new laws for the prevention of atrocities against Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes to ensure more stringent provisions for prevention of atrocities against these communities while on the other hand, person like CUJ Vice-Chancellor with the criminal intentions are fiddling with the rights of SCs and STs,” said Mr Thappa and warned that if FIR against the VC is not lodged and rights of SC, ST and OBC employees are not restored , the Ambedkar Yuva Sangathan will a launch massive agitation over the issue.
