Jammu, Nov 7: BJP MLC Surinder Ambardar today led the protest against Relief Ministry for its callous attitude towards the sufferings of KP displaced community at Relief Commisionerate office in Jammu on the opening day of the Durbar in Jammu
The protest which was organized by the BJP Displaced District was attended by the large number of people from the KP community including the KP employees who are protesting in Jammu from last four months after they were forced to flee Kashmir Valley for want of security when the unrest broke on the valley in early July.
While speaking on the occasion MLC said that Relief Ministry and its Department has not been able to deliver on mitigating the hardships of the displaced KP community on multiple counts be it issuance of timely ration and Cash Assistance Relief or be it the supply of safe drinking water to various camps or conditions of the roads in jagti and Purkhoo R&R has completely Failed to live up to the expectations of the community.
BJP MLC while addressing the large number of KP protesting employees who are on dharna from last four months condemned the attitude of the Relief Department in addressing their pending demands or their failure in reaching out to the protesting employees as they have been appointed under PM Employment package which directly falls under the ministry of R&R.He said that Justice should be done with these employees who can’t go to Valley under the prevailing conditions to join back till the conditions normalize there and moreover their salaries should be released immediately .
Ambardar also made a point that if there are too many bottlenecks which have been created in this Department and all the procedures of delivery Model pertaining to bifurcation of ration cards and Disbursement of Medical corpus Funds to ailing community members have been made cumbersome and demanded that if in 15 days the system in not put in place then they will be forced to step up the protest as the community is on the verge of losing its patience.
MLC also spoke about the Funds which the central government has sent for the renovation of the jagti township and other camps however it seems that the Department is sitting on these files which again adds the woes of the Pandit community.
Amongst others who were preset on the occasion included Chand JI bhat BJP displaced district President, J.L Pandita Vice President BJP displaced district, Prof MK Raina, P.L. Dhar general Secretary BJP DD.and Vijay Raina Mandal President.
