SRINAGAR : Amarnath Yatra was today resumed after remaining suspended due to slippery track following heavy rain yesterday, a yatra official said.
Meanwhile, a small group of yatris had ‘darshan’ at the cave shrine in south Kashmir Himalayas this morning after night halt at Panjterni. Yatra official said that despite fresh rain in the morning and cloudy weather, a fresh batch of pilgrims left Baltal base camp early this morning for the cave shrine.
The pilgrims are likely to reach the cave shrine this afternoon to pay obiesance. Meanwhile, pilgrims who had night halt at cave shrine after paying the obeisance have also left for Baltal base camp.
Similarly a fresh batch of pilgrims left Nunwan Pahalgam base camp early this morning for Chandanwari, the last motorable halting station on the traditional route.
Pilgrims who had night halt at Chandanwari and other halting stations on this tradtional route have also started their onward journey to the holy cave this morning.
Meanwhile, 101 pay obeisance at Holy Cave yesterday. With this a total of 2,17, 928 Yatris had darshan at the Holy Cave since the commencement of the 48-day-long pilgrimage from July 2.
The pilgrims had since returned to their homes after paying obeisance. The yatra will conclude on August 18, the Rakshbandan. (AGENCIES)
