KATHUA, June 22: Following the inclement weather and blockage of Jammu -Srinagar National Highway due to land sliding and washing out of road, the trucks carrying the goods and other luggage of Amarnath yatra Langar parties were stopped at Lakhanpur near here ,today.
More than 30 trucks loaded with Langer food items and other materials were halted at Lakhanpur. The Langer parties drawn from various States to serve the pilgrims visiting holy shrine for darshan were eager to reach to their destination point to setup the Langer before beginning of yatra. They appealed the J&K Government to clear the road as early as possible. After two years of COVID ,the Langer parties got the permission to setup the Langars.
Shiv Shakti Langer Committee member Neeraj Sharma said that after two years of COVID, now they were allowed to setup langar for Amaranth yatra. He said the local administration informed them that due to bad weather the road blockade they were stopped at Lakhanpur. He expressed the hope that road would be restored earlier.
Another langer committee member, Ajay Jalsaria said that very few days are left for beginning of Baba Amarnath yatra. Nearly 25 trucks loaded with Langer material have been stopped here since morning. “We are waiting for clearing of road to Kashmir. It will takes time to setup the Langer. The bad weather wasted our time. We are waiting for clearance of road. However there is no problem to stay here as all facilities are made available”.
