UDHAMPUR, May 17: The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Govt. College for Women, Udhampur organised an Alumni Meet as a step to bolster the bond between Alumni and the college fraternity.
Prof. Anjali Mahajan, Principal of the College was the chief guest of the occasion and Dr. Rupali Vaid, Excise and Taxation Officer Udhampur-Reasi range) marked her presence as “Special Guest” being a proud Alumni of the College.
The inauguration of the event began with the floral welcome of the dignitaries and lighting of the lamp by the Principal, senior staff and prominent alumni of the college. It was followed by the welcome speech by Prof. Anjali Mahajan, Principal of the college.
In her address, the Principal highlighted that the meet is an occasion for the college to celebrate the achievements of Alumni of the college in different spheres of the society and to inspire the current students.
She also thanked Alumni for their continuous support to the institution and their contributions which will help us to maintain high standards of education. She also appreciated the IQAC of the college for organising the meet.
Addressing the gathering Dr. Rupali Vaid shared her experiences and also requested the students to participate in Extra-curricular activities so as to enhance and sharpen their skill based knowledge. She thanked the college for arranging this Alumni Meet and also suggested to do the same every year without fail as it gives opportunity to meet and interact with the other Alumni and students of the college.
In her brief address Dr. Anita Sharma, Convener IQAC, GCW Udhampur focused on the various Quality aspects, the role of Alumni in the upcoming NAAC in the college and also the excellence and the achievements of the college in the varied areas.
Pallavi and group enthralled the stage with their performance on Dogri Folk dance which was appreciated by all.
Dewanshi, Pinaki Bakshi, Bharti Dogri and Prof. Shama Rani, alumni of the college shared experiences and thoughts of their beautiful college days and felt nostalgic. They also inspired other students to excel in their future endeavours. All the HoDs along with other teaching staff, IQAC members, student council and other students were present on the occasion. Alumni also gave their valuable feedback.
