RAJOURI, Nov 11: Minister of State for Health, Shabir Ahmad Khan today kick started the construction work on Kalili- Bhatian road in Manjakot Block.
The construction work on this 6 kilometer long road would be completed at an estimated cost of Rs 3.60 crore, scheduled to be completed within one year period under PMGSY. The road from Kalili would connect Manjakot, Bhatian border village and Thanamandi, benefitting large local population of the area.
Addressing public meetings at Jamola and Ladyal border villages after opening of the work , the Minister said that road communication in far-flung and border areas and linking these with main highways has been flagged as one of the most important sectors along with enhancing and upgrading drinking water supply and supply of electricity, health care and educational facilities.
The Minister said that Government has taken several bold and exemplary initiatives to revolutionize the overall development of the state during last few years. He said up gradation of basic amenities received focused attention of the Government with the liberal financial support of the UPA Government in the Centre. He said that flagship programmes like MGNREGA, NRHM, PMGSY and RGGVY are under implementation in the State.
The Minister said during last over 4 years construction work of dozens of new road projects has been completed in Rajouri district while as the execution of number of road projects are apace in the area.
The Minister said that reaching out to every area is the guiding principle in the development process, adding that special focus is on development of remote and backward pockets besides addressing issues confronting weaker sections of the society.
The Minister asked the people to take best advantage of this path breaking initiative of the Government and demand public service from the departments of Power, PHE, CAPD, Revenue, Housing, Transport, etc. in a prescribed time limit fixed for the delivery of each service.
