UDHAMPUR, May 30: Senior Congress leader and former District Youth Congress president Sumeet Magotra today threatened mass agitation against hike in toll tax at Ban Toll Plaza and urged all political parties to join hands in this regard.
Addressing a press conference, here today, he lamented that despite repeated pleas of different political and social organizations to the National Highway Authority of India against unnecessarily hike in rate of toll tax at Ban Toll Plaza, there was no action to revise the rate.
Further, he added, the Governor announced exemption for Kashmiri people from the toll tax in Valley but the same exemption is being denied to the locals of Udhampur and other areas in Jammu.
Magotra appealed to all the political parties to join hands over this non political issue and launch a struggle against dictatorial attitude of the NHAI. He also announced to approach the Court of Law for justice.
