JAMMU, Dec 20: All India Tanzeem-e-Insaaf held a meeting to commemorate the death anniversary of the martyrs of Independence struggle right from the year 1857 with special reference to the Martyrs of December 19, 1927 Shaheed Ashfaq-Ullah Khan and Shaheed Ram Prasad Bismill.
JA Kazmi, president Tanzeem-e-Insaaf, threw light on the activities, struggle and deeds of the martyrs and their associates and referred to the Kakori train incident, which was a charge against them that to raise funds they had looted the train for the cause of freedom struggle.
Kazmi said that these two martyrs are shining stars of the independence movement as they fought and launched an ideological movement of independence and had a vision that after throwing the yoke of slavery of a foreign force the Indians should be independent of all the signs of slavery. They thought of India to be socialist and secular, India of their dreams which is manifest from their deeds.
He said that the dream of the martyrs was shattered and did not come true as it culminated in the division of country in the name of religion on the basis of two nation theory, for which the entire nation had to pay a huge loss of emotional divide, division of country and loss of secular fibre.
A presidium was constituted of senior Advocate Bachan Lal Kalgotra, Ram Kumar Sharma and Uday Chand. The presidium paid homage to the martyrs.
They said that the country has not got full independence till today. India is still a member of common wealth and subservient to western forces especially America. The goal of the martyrs was to change the whole political scenario and bring a change in which the India will be a free state, free from corruption, communal hatred and frenzy and a nation state for the welfare of its subjects, they added.
Among others who spoke were Shivnandan, Baldev Raj, GL Chandan, Romesh Chander, Balwan Singh, Preetam Gupta, Ajaz Ahmed and Advocate Lakshmi Kant Sharma.
