JAMMU, June 3: ALIMCO (Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India) in collaboration with CRC Jammu (Composite Regional Centre for Persons with Disabilities) organized a camp to distribute motorized tricycles and other aids among the Persons with Disabilities (PwDs).
During the camp, held at Composite Regional Centre Jammu, 21 motorized tricycles, 3 tricycles, 2 Axilla Crutches and 2 Elbow Crutches were handed over to deserving individuals with disabilities, marking a milestone in their journey towards inclusivity and accessibility.
The camp witnessed the coming together of community leaders, representatives from ALIMCO and CRC Jammu, as well as beneficiaries and their families. The event exemplified the spirit of compassion and empowerment as individuals with disabilities received life-changing assistive devices to facilitate their mobility and improve their quality of life.
ALIMCO, renowned for its commitment to manufacturing high-quality assistive devices, provided the motorized tricycles, tailored to the specific needs and requirements of each beneficiary. These tricycles are designed to offer enhanced mobility, allowing individuals with disabilities to navigate their surroundings with ease and confidence, thereby promoting their participation in various aspects of daily life.
CRC Jammu played a pivotal role in identifying the beneficiaries and ensuring that the distribution process was conducted smoothly and efficiently. Speaking at the distribution camp, Dr Hasnan Khan of ALIMCO reiterated ALIMCO’s commitment to advancing accessibility and inclusivity, stating, “By providing motorized tricycles to persons with disabilities, we aim to enhance their mobility and independence, enabling them to lead fulfilling lives.”
Dr Rohnika Sharma, Director CRC Jammu, emphasized the significance of partnership and community support in creating an inclusive society. She stated, “This distribution camp marks a significant milestone in our efforts to empower persons with disabilities.”
