MUMBAI,: Actor Akshay Kumar has left for London to start filming the first schedule of “Gold”.
The film directed by Reema Kagti is about India’s first Olympic medal win as a free nation in the year 1948 at Games of the XIV Olympiad, London.
The 49-year-old actor took to Twitter to share the news with his fans and followers.
“Set out on a brand new journey, aiming for nothing less than #GOLD! Day 1 of Gold, need your love and best wishes as always,” wrote Akshay, alongside his first look from the film.
In the monochrome photograph, the National Award-winning actor can be seen sporting a thin moustache. He is dressed in a chequered waistcoat and pants.
The movie also marks the Bollywood debut of actress Mouni Roy opposite Akshay.
The film is being produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar under the banner Excel Entertainment.
The movie will hit the theatres on August 15 next year.
Akshay will next be seen in “Toilet: Ek Prem Katha”, which is set to release on August 11 this year. (AGENCIES)
