AKMMC demands facilities at par with Kashmiri Hindu migrants

JAMMU, Aug 2: All Kashmiri Muslim Migrants Committee (AKMMC) held a meeting under the chairmanship of its president Sheikh Fida Hussain and urged the Government to facilitate them at par with Kashmiri Hindu migrants.
While speaking, Hussain urged the administration to include the actually migrated persons from the Kashmir valley into the Apex Committee and provide residential accommodation to the Muslim migrant in the migrant quarters at Jagti at par with Kashmiri Hindu migrants.
He said that SSRB has collected application forms from the migrants of Kashmir valley for providing them Government job under Prime Minister’s package, but nothing has been done till date.
He said that Revenue and Relief authorities are asking for various documents including PRC of the ancestors for issuance of PRC, which is not possible, adding that the concerned departments are taking more than 6 months time for conducting bifurcation of already existing migrant ration cards.
The administration should issue directions to the concerned authorities for speeding up the process for such bifurcation.
The committee demanded release of relief amount and ration material especially sugar in favour of these migrants before Eid.
The meeting was attended by vice president Nazir Ahmed Lone, general secretary Farooq Ahmed Khan, organizer Mohammad Yousaf Wani and other working committee meeting.
