AJKSPA demands release of 7th PC arrears

JAMMU, Apr 3: All J&K State Pensioners Association (AJKSPA) today urged Governor SP Malik to intervene personally in releasing 7th Pay Commission arrears of the pensioners.
Asserting the demand during a meeting of the Association held here today, Madan Lal Abrol, general secretary of the Association, said that J&K Bank Shalamar has not released the 7th Pay Commission arrears with effect from January 1, 2016 to onwards even though Sadar Treasury Officer has passed the bill 5 months back. Abrol urged Chairman, J&K Bank to release the pending arrears of the pensioners which is lying with the bank.
Abrol further said that pensioners are demanding identity cards for last 25 years but the same have not been given to them till date. He alleged that AG Office is not working sincerely and forcing thousands of pensioners to run from pillar to post. In the meeting, he also stressed for enhancement of medical allowance from present Rs 300 per month to Rs 3000 per month.
The meeting unanimously decided that the Association will hold protest tomorrow in support of their demands at Bishnah near Tehsil office.
