JAMMU, Oct 23: Former Cabinet Minister and Member Legislative Council (MLC), Ajatshatru Singh, today inspected the statue of Maharaja Hari Singh at Ravinder Singh Jamwal’s workshop at Birpur (RS Pura), before its installation at Maharaja Hari Singh Park in Jammu.
The BJP legislator, Ajatshatru Singh, who is also the Grandson of the last Maharaja of the State, visited the workshop of renowned sculpturist at Birpur to have a final look of the statue before it goes for the final processing.
Accompanied by his son Ranvijay Singh, Ajatshatru Singh showed keen interest in each and every detail of the magnificent statue and had a threadbare discussion on various aesthetic issues related to the project.
Ajatshatru also discussed possibility of installing more such statues of the Dogra rulers, warriors and other achievers across the State so that the younger generation is motivated to follow the footsteps of great sons of soil who dedicated their lives for the State and the nation.
While discussing the problems being faced by the art practitioners in the State, Ajatshatru assured Ravinder Singh Jamwal of all possible help in promoting and safeguarding the interests of the art fraternity. He stressed on involving younger generation in various arts so that their creativity is put to the best use.
On the way back, the legislator interacted with the locals of Birpur and adjoining areas. The locals apprised him of various issues pertaining to development. He assured them of all possible help in mitigating their problems through various Government schemes being run by the Central and the State Governments.
