Airstrikes kill 14 militants in Afghanistan

KABUL, June 10: At least 14 militants were killed while three others sustained injuries as fighting aircraft pounded Taliban hideouts in parts of Afghanistan’s Uruzgan province, an army statement here on Monday said.

The statement said “the sorties targeted Taliban hideouts in Charchino district and Qala-e-Naw area outside provincial capital Tirin Kot over the past 24 hours, leaving 14 insurgents dead and wounding three others.”?

A large number of arms and ammunition of the militants were destroyed during the air raids, the statement said.

Taliban militants have not made comment yet.
