AIP spokesman dies, 13 injured in road mishaps

Srinagar, Nov 11: The spokesperson of recently floated Awami Ithaad Party (AIP) died while two other workers of the party were injured in a road accident in North Kashmir’s Pattan town today.
Three workers of AIP were on way to Baramulla in an Ecco (JK01S-8496) when it was hit by a Tata Mobile (JK05C-6712) coming from the opposite side of the road near TCP Palapora Pattan in district Baramulla.
All the three persons boarding the vehicle were injured among whom one died on spot who was identified as Showkat Ahmed Shah (Nadwi) son of Abdul Ahad resident of Ganderbal. Nadwi was the spokesperson of AIP headed by MLA Langate Engineer Rashid.
The other two party workers injured in the accident have been identified as Tanvir Hussain Khan son of Ghulam Sarwar resident of Anantnag and Advocate Abdul Rashid Dar son of Ghulam Muhammad resident of Tral Pulwama.  Both the injured were shifted to SKIMS.
Police have seized the Tata Mobile Van and registered a case.
A Tata Sumo JK05C/3144 skidded of the road at Powdian Baramulla, resulting in injuries to two passengers. Both the injured have been shifted to District Hospital Baramulla for treatment.
Two motorcycles JK01M/4996 and JK04C/2289 collided at Chew Dara Crossing, Budgam, resulting in injuries to both the motorcyclist, Umar Wani son of  Ghulam Rasool resident of Kulhama and Tanveer Ahmad son of Mohammad Ramzan resident of Hangam. The injured have been shifted to JVC Hospital, Srinagar for treatment.
A Maruti car JK09/5248 turned turtle near Petrol Pump, Bathergam, Kupwara, resulting in injuries to four persons travelling in the car. The injured have been shifted to Sub District Hospital, Kupwara for treatment.
A Tata Sumo JK02W/6761, turned turtle at Sagam, Anantnag in the jurisdiction of police station Kokernag, resulting in injuries to three passengers. All the injured were shifted to hospital for treatment.
The spokesman said police has registered cases in these accidents.
