AIMCCC’s concern over plight of displaced Pandits

JAMMU, Sept 8: All India Migrant Camp Coordination Committee (AIMCCC) has expressed grave concern over the plight of the displaced Pandits leading an exiled life for over last 32 years.
In a meeting here, today held under the chairmanship of its president, Desh Rattan Pandita, the AIMCCC urged the Government to settle the issues of the displaced Pandits who are facing many hardships after being hounded out from their homes and hearths by the Pakistani terrorists.
The meeting said the plight of many displaced Pandit families is worst who are totally dependent on cash relief of Rs 13,000 per month and with which they are unable to make their both ends meet. Many families are suffering from chronic diseases and they are not in a position to afford the cost of medicines also due to lack of resources.
He said one youth Babloo Ji Bhat of Purkhoo Camp ended his life recently after fed up with poverty. The poor fellow who was totally dependent on cash relief was unable to feed his family of six members including old age parents, wife and two children. His one child was suffering from heart ailment and the poor fellow was unable to bear his expenses of medicines. So scared of life he committed suicide as he had no other alternative.
Pandita demanded compensation for the family and financial help by the Government for treatment of his ailing child. He also urged the community organizations to come to the help of poor family at this juncture.
