JAMMU, May 5: A meeting of All India Migrant Camps Coordination Committee (AIMCCC) was held at Jagti township under the leadership of it’s chairman, B K. Raina.
In the meeting AIMCCC expressed grave concern over the present serious hardships being faced by Jagti inmates and they are not at all satisfied with the works of PWD Division, Nagrota due to adverse conditions of residential blocks.
The present Government seems totally against and not sincere towards development of migrant blocks either at Jagti Township or at other camps who are suffering since their exodus. All bathrooms, kitchens and rooms including lobbies are in bad condition, need immediate renovation. Instead of making small tenders, for quick and fast works at migrant colonies, PWD Division, Nagrota is issuing major tenders in shape of day to day maintenance of blocks at Jagti Township which didn’t prove beneficial so for. It is suggested to issue small tenders for speedy completion of works.
Conditions of parks and link roads are bad at Jagti Township. So it is requested to concerned authorities and other related departments not to misuse public funds.
While speaking in the meeting, AIMCCC president, Desh Ratten Pandita said that the roofs of Government Higher Secondary School (Migrant) are leaking and water seeps into class rooms in rainy season. The walls of all school buildings need complete renovation and repair so that school children do not suffer any more. Moreover there is shortage of teaching staff in some particular subjects which needs to be looked into.
He demanded PWD division Nagrota Executive Engineer, should personally intervene to make small and essential tenders for important works at Jagti and other camps for their speedy completion.
