JAMMU, Feb 7: A meeting of All India Migrant Camp Coordination Committee (AIMCCC) was held at Jagti township under the chairmanship of its chief, Desh Rattan Pandita and vice chairman of the organization, B K Raina.
While addressing the meeting, Desh Rattan said that four Assembly constituencies be kept reserved for the displaced Pandits in the delimitation of assemblies for the political empowerment of the community. Besides, one seat in Rajya Sabha be also kept reserved for the community.
He said entire delimitation process will be meaningless if attention was not paid for political empowerment of Kashmiri Pandits who have suffered on that account right from 1947.
He said political empowerment of the community will not only be in the interests of the community but nation as a whole also. “If Government really means providing justice to the hapless community leading an exiled life for last over 31 years it should take drastic steps for its political empowerment”, he added.
B K Raina in his address said the Government has failed to settle the genuine demands of the community during last 31 years and wanted to know how long more the community which has made a lot of contribution to Indian aesthetics will lead the exiled life.
P.N.Jalali, vice president, J L Raina, secretary, M.M Kanth, genera secretary, Vinoo Misri youth secretary, Rahul Raina youth leader and Raj Kumar Koul, senior leader of AIMCCC addressed the meeting.
