JAMMU, Jan 20: A meeting of All India Jat Mahasabha (AIJMS) was held at village Chak Salaria, tehsil Ramgarh today. Ch. Manmohan Singh president, AIJMS J&K and Ch.Darshan Singh chairman BDC Ramgarh were invited as chief patrons. The meeting was organized by local Jat Biradari member Ch.Rashpal Singh and his team.
The Welcoming Committee expressed gratitude for the work done by Ch. Manmohan Singh for the people. Ch.Manmohan Singh complimented the Biradari members present and credited his team and fellow Biradari members for their support in his quest to address the Biradari issues. He informed that he is consistently in touch with the Central Government to grant OBC status to Jats of J&K UT at par with Jats residing in rest of India.
He also said that currently he is focusing on getting a legible amount as compensation for farmers, who lost two crop seasons due to rainfall and hailstorm. The compensation amount of Rs 675 per Kanal seems as a joke to people, as just the plowing of one kanal of land by tractor costs about Rs 600-900. The Government should pay minimum of Rs 2000 per kanal and below that amount nothing is acceptable. In other States Government provides subsidies on provision of electricity, water supply and other facilities. The farmers of J&K should get the same benefit from the Government.
Ch. Darshan Singh asked the people to come forward with any issue they have. He asked the people present to make the Biradari leaders aware of their grievances and the committees made by Ch. Manmohan Singh will prioritize their issues and work to resolve them. Ch.Manmohan Singh took this occasion to request the people of Biradari to maintain unity and harmony not within the Biradari but with other Biradaris too. Choudhary said that we should support each other and stay away from provocative elements who try to mislead people and misguide them for their own benefit.
He said All India Jat Mahasabha is not a political party and does not support political agendas. It dates back to more than a 100 years, with many legendary personalities, such as Sir Chotu Ram Ji, our first national president leading the Biradari, with great Jat leaders following his steps till date. All the sarpanchs belonging to block Ramgarh extended their support to Ch.Manmohan Singh and his team members.
