KATHUA, May 10: All India Jat Maha Sabha (AIJMS) here today convened a meeting to address the pressing issue of non-issuance of OBC certificates to the Jat community members by the concerned authorities.
The meeting was chaired by Ch. Manmohan Singh, AIJMS president J&K.
Several issues related to Jat community were discussed in the meeting which was attended by Avtar Choudhary, District president Kathua; Ch Sat Pal, Tehsil president; Ch. Krishan Lal, Ch. Lekh Raj, Ch. Dalip Singh, Ch. Jagar Singh, Ch. Ramesh Kumar, Ch. Rakesh Kumar, Swarn Singh, Ch. Parkash Singh, Ch. Charan Dass and S.P Choudhary.
The Sabha members raised serious concern over the non-issuance of OBC certificates to Jat community members, despite government’s affirmative stance on extending OBC benefits.
Manmohan Singh emphasized on the vital role of youth empowerment in shaping the future trajectory of Jat community.
He called upon Sabha members to remain vigilant and proactive in guiding and educating the youth about the detrimental effects of substance abuse, particularly drugs.
Manmohan Singh assured to take the issue of OBC certificates with the Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, to resolve it at the earliest.
