JAMMU, Mar 16: All India Bank Officers Association (AIBOA) has strongly defended the old generation private banks for their careful trading activities and also extended its support to the Government decision of helping time tested old generation private sector banks.
In a statement, AIBOA general secretary listed the names of several old generation private banks, including Catholic Syrian Bank, J&K Bank, Karnataka Bank etc, which have been contributing immensely in financial sector by maintaining their status.
On the other hand, he added, the institutional leaders of new generation private sector banks have used, abused and misused their powers in dealing with the institutions leading to murky deals and thus bringing down the reputation of the banking fraternity.
Maintaining that the banks are living links with the growth of the development of a region and also the respective community, the AIBOA general secretary said that the Controller of the Banking system as well as the Chief Economic Advisor to Government of India have correctly extended total support to the time tested old generation private sector banks in full measures.
