JAMMU, Oct 31: All India Backward Classes Union (AIBCU) today held a protest at Press Club Jammu against the Justice Sharma Commission report in which fifteen more groups/ castes have been added into the OSC list of JK- UT.

The Backward Classes body opposes the inclusion of these 15 castes/ groups in the list and termed it as violation of the Constitution as reservation is for castes only. They said many included castes and castes among WPR are protesting against their inclusions in OSC list which shows that BJP want to limit the reservation of general categories for only three castes and so many other castes are being excluded to add into OSC list and ST categories.
Protest was led by president Abdul Majid Malik, Kali Dass, Sham Lal Basson, FC Satia, Rajinder Sikka, Brij Mehra, Chaman Lal, Gurmeet Singh and others.
Speakers condemned the Commission report and demanded its review. It was informed the Govt through media to implement the Mandal report in total which has already identified castes but on the name of art 370 it was not implemented in J&K.
It was also appealed to the so called OBC leaders of Morchas/Cells from their respective political parties as the political parties are against the OBCs and their (OBC leaders) work is going against the OBCs.
All speakers appealed to come on one plateform for united struggle and to defeat nefarious designs of the political parties in general and BJP in particular.
Prominent persons who joined protest and addressed gathering included Prof GL Thapa, Mohinder Bhagat, Shashi Verma, Vijay Verma, Mukhtiar Kalia, Kasturi Lal Basotra, Kewal Krishan Fotra, Balkar Singh, Rattan Lal Bazigar, Tara Chand Bazigar, Ch Jamal Din, Ch Fazal Hussain, Ch Alif Din, Manzoor, Hussain and others.
