JAMMU, Mar 16: All India Backward Classes Union (AIBCU) in a meeting at Bishnah demanded implementation of Mandal Commission report in J&K and 27 per cent reservation for Other Backward Classes (OBC) as is there in other parts of the country.
Speakers in the meeting said that assurances given to the delegation of newly formed JK Apni Party by the Prime Minister and Home Minister does not cover constitutional rights of the backward classes including OBCs “who are still known as OSCs (Other Social Castes) in the Union Territory of J&K.”
They also said that reservation policy which was made public on January 30, 2020 was totally contrary to the expected one.
All speakers in the meeting appealed to the Prime Minister to revoke certain provisions for the smooth and natural flow of justice for the OBCs who had “already suffered for 28 years after the apex court’s judgement on Mandal Commission report which was not implemented in J&K due to Article 370.”
The meeting was attended by Dalvinder Singh, Gurnam Singh, Sonia Salgotra, Anju Devi and others.
