NEW DELHI, July 4: Expanding its global network with Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, Air India will be launching its Amritsar-Delhi-Birmingham flight from August 1.
The flight, which would operate four days a week, would be the fourth between India and the United Kingdom.
The national carrier had introduced its Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft on Delhi-London route, which was the third flight to the city from India.
“Air India’s direct flight from Delhi to Birmingham will not only fulfill the needs of the ethnic community to fly to India direct but also help to develop better tourism and trade relations in general,” an Air India spokesperson said.
The new flight would operate on the Amritsar-Delhi- Birmingham-Delhi-Amritsar route with Dreamliner aircraft on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, he added.
Air India is also offering attractive inaugural fares on the Delhi-Birmingham-Delhi sector for a limited period with a free add on sector from Delhi to Ahmedabad, Kochi, Kozhikode and Thiruvananthapuram.
The airline presently operates 21 flights to London per week, seven on the Mumbai-London sector and 14 on Delhi-London sector.
AI also plans to connect Sydney-Melbourne from August, Rome and Milan from October and Moscow from early next year with its Boeing 787s. (PTI)
