Agitating JU employees to go on mass casual leave today

JAMMU, Mar 7: Going a step forward for further intensifying their ongoing struggle, Executive body of the Non-Teaching Employees Union and Non Gazetted Employees Union, University of Jammu, today announced to observe One Day Mass Casual Leave tomorrow.
The decision in this regard was taken after joint token protest demonstration on the campus,  during three-hour suspension of work by the Non-teaching and Non-Gazetted employees, who are demanding implementation of the agreement reached out with the JU authorities and consideration of their other demands.
The agitating employees were particularly annoyed over alleged misleading ‘Appeal’, got published by the university authorities and declaring their protest as ‘Illegal’ and issuance of   ‘No Work No Pay’ order.
After suspending work for three hours, the agitating employees took out a protest rally on the campus and then staged a dharna-cum-demonstration in front of the Vice-Chancellor’s Secretariat.
During the demonstration, the members of JUNTEU and JUNGEU, raised slogans for fulfillment of genuine demands. Speakers on the occasion, while reiterating their demands, also highlighted many other issues and again appeal the authority to resolve all genuine demands which are still pending.
The demonstration was addressed by Pawan Singh Bhau, Vijay Kumar,   Ashwani Bakshi, Sham Sharma, Vikas Langer, Banarasi Lal, Vidhya Lal,   Padam Shri Padamani.  Abhinav Sharma,  Sanjeev Chadha,   Niranjan Singh Charak, Joginder Singh Chib,  Kewal Kumar, Sunita Amla, Jarnail Singh, Jasjeet Singh and Raghubir Singh Bandral.
Similar protest demonstrations were also held in the offsite campuses of the University of Jammu. Non-teaching and Non-Gazetted employees of all the Off site Campuses shall also observe mass casual leave.
