Agitating JKAACL employees get support of various trade unions

JAMMU, Oct 11: The ongoing protest by the J&K Cultural Academy Employees Union, which entered into 6th day today was joined and supported by representative of different employees’ unions.
Rajinder Kumar, vice president, J&K National Trade Union Front , Raj Singh, president Social Forestry Union, Vikram Singh, president Sports, Peera Ditta, NTUF and Hardip Singh, Secretary, Social Forestry Union joined the protest by JKAACL employees.
While addressing the protest demonstration, Ramesh Singh, State president J&K Cultural Academy Employee’s Union, said that at least one representative from each cadre of the Academy, like Establishment, Editorial, Culture and Technical, should be involved while framing the new recruitment rules. He added that the employees, who do not have any career progression avenues, should be provided with the running higher grades and all the cadres should be given equal number of posts and staff so that each section could work smoothly.
The other Union leaders demanded immediate promotions/confirmations of all the employees who were placed against the vacant posts and are eligible to be promoted against these posts. They stated that out of 49 placements, only 17 employees have been confirmed so for by the two DPCs in last two years and 32 employees are still facing injustices as they have been kept out of DPC recommendations. Also in the recent DPC few employees were given promotion from the date of placement where as other were not given according to the date of placement, they added.
Sunil Sharma, general secretary of the Employee’s Union, threatened no booking of the auditorium in case the issues are not solved immediately.
