JAMMU, Mar 18: The aggrieved candidates, who were excluded in the revised list for interviews for the post of Teacher, today held a protest demonstration near the Press Club Jammu.
The protesting candidates raised slogans against SSRB and demanded justice for them. They were also demanding that the excluded candidates must be allowed to appear in the interview for the same post.
These aggrieved candidates were short listed for the interview after entrance test. However, a number of short listed candidates in the original list were excluded in the revised list, which was made public after 40 days.
The protest demonstration was led by Dr Suresh Ajay Magotra, chairman of AAWAZ-NGO, who demanded a high-level probe into the `selection scam’.
“There are about 700 candidates who have been excluded in the new list (revised). From Samba, about 100 candidates were dropped while 200 candidates were dropped in Udhampur and 50 in Kishtwar,” he said.
Dr Magotra said that youth of Jammu and Kashmir were already facing unemployment problem while the Government was adding salt to their injuries and playing with their future in the name of new recruitment policy.
He also appealed to the SSRB chairman to allow these candidates for interview as they were not at fault. “If the genuine demand of aggrieved candidates is not considered, we will intensify this agitation or move to the court, he threatened.
Others who addressed the protest dharna, included  Raghuvir Singh, Avinash Sharma, Vishal, Pinky Sharma, Ramesh Sharma, Monika Kumari, Ruhi Sharma, Santoshi, Neha, Mehak, Aashia, Harpreet Kour, Mannu Bharti and  Sukriti Khajuria.
