SRINAGAR : After a brief delay due to rains and slippery conditions, pilgrimage to Holy Amarnath cave shrine in south Kashmir Himalayas resumed again from both Baltal and Pahalgam base camps.
So far 1.43 lakh pilgrims have had darshan of the self-made ice-shivlingam in the cave shrine since the commencement of the 55-day-long yatra from June 28.
An official said the prilgrimage suspended this morning due to rains and slippery tracks.
There was heavy rains near the cave shrine forcing authorities to suspend the yatra.
“Normally we are allowing pilgrims from 0400 hrs every morning from Baltal”, he said adding today it started from 0730 hrs.
Similarly yatra from Pahalgam was also delayed by about three hours.
Now the sky is clear on Baltal side while it was cloudy on Pahalgam side, he said.
The weather office has predicted rain or thundershowers during the next 24 hours.
Yatra was going on smoothly from both the sides now, he said.
