After 12-yrs, Govt accords sanction to establishment of CTC Lethpora

Srinagar, May 25: After over a decade of functioning, the Home Department today accorded sanction to the establishment of the Commando Training Centre at Lethpora in Pulwama district.
The CTC Letpora was established 12 years ago and so far 12 batches of commandos have passed out from the Centre but it had no official sanction. The police officials were posted here mostly on deputation.
The CTC that produced around 2000 commandos so far was headed by Superintendent of Police and now it will be headed by the DIG rank officer. The Government has also accorded sanction for creating 207 posts including the DIG.
An official said that with the sanction of for the establishment of the CTC Letpora, it will get upgraded. He said that the new building will come up and the other infrastructure would also be upgraded.
