AEA expresses resentment over allegations against staff of A&TO

JAMMU, Dec 21: J&K Accounts Employees Association (AEA) has expressed resentment over the allegations leveled against the dedicated staff of the Accounts and Treasuries Organization (A&TO) by the State Vigilance Commission.
A meeting of the association was held under the chairmanship of its President JS Charak, wherein notice was taken about SVC’s recommendations of disbanding all the treasuries due to alleged large scale corruption.
While speaking, Charak condemned the allegation of the Commission as already the State treasuries have switched over to cashless financial transaction and all the payments to the contractors, suppliers and drawing and disbursing officers are made on e-payment made through attached branches of the J&K Bank.
He reminded the Commission that for the last many years, on presentation of the bills at the Treasuries the detail of payments to be made is projected on line to Finance Department and on receipt of funds through J&K Bank, the payments are transferred to respective bank accounts.
SVC should pit all the complaints against the Treasuries to public domain so as to make the facts crystal clear and the action so taken, he said, adding that Government may take decision on the functioning but not by way of leveling baseless, frivolous and false allegations against the accounts personnel, who are much dedicated and honest as compared to others.
The Association appealed to its cadre members to remain vigilant of such ill designs and unite themselves to fight this malicious propaganda to fight such acts.
