JAMMU, Oct 1: Advisor to Lt Governor, K K Sharma today held a public hearing at Convention Centre Canal Road and listened to the grievances, demands and suggestions of the people coming from different areas of the Jammu Province.
Scores of delegations, deputations, representatives of Non Government organizations and individuals projected their grievances and developmental requirements of their respective areas.
Representatives of Kathua Vikas Manch demanded functioning, establishment of the newly approved Government Degree College for Sallan Block, besides Development of Baba Sidh Goria Shrine.
A delegation of Jammu & Kashmir National Panthers party headed by former Minister Dr. Harshdev Singh also met the Advisor and demanded streamlining of transfer system and promotion of lecturers, Master, and teachers of school education department. After giving a patient hearing to the issues, the Advisor assured prompt action after due deliberation with concerned authorities.
While taking note of representation regarding transfer of physically handicapped persons, the Advisor impressed upon the concerned department to deal with such cases with compassion and sympathy.
The deputation of Headmasters’ Association also presented a Memorandum to the Advisor demanding regularisation (Confirmation) of I/c Headmasters. Association of Unaided CBSE Schools requested for discussing the problems of RTE with Private Schools and other Stakeholders before it is implemented.
While listening to Kanak Mandi Traders (KMT) Association seeking allotment of land for godown , the Advisor gave on-spot directions to JDA to come up with a project proposal for the same adding that it is imperative for decongesting the city.
Several other deputations and individuals also put forth their demand and suggestions.
