LEH, May 2: Advisor Umang Narula launched ‘dselonlineeducation mobile app’, an online education mobile app of School Education Department Ladakh, at UT Secretariat conference hall.
Secretary School & Technical Education Ladakh Saugat Biswas, Director Education Mumtaz Ali, Scientist B, National Informatics Centre Leh Phunchok Paldan and officials of Education Department were also present during the launch.
Advisor Narula, speaking on the occasion, said that this app will prove beneficial for students during the lockdown period. He further suggested for the development of an offline module for ease and far reach of the educational contents.
Giving detail about the “dselonlineeducation mobile app”, Director Education Mumtaz said that this app is specially developed for students from class 1st to 9th, by DIET Kargil wherein recorded contents shall be uploaded and contents are also checked by the experts before uploading the same. He also said that parents/students can install this application on their smart phones and sit with their children and show them videos related to the curriculum. Online classes and recorded contents will be uploaded on YouTube and thereafter the links will be shared on different whatsapps groups of students and teachers.
He also added that, classes through All India Radio Leh and Kargil for class 10th, 11th and 12th commenced from first week of April with time slot of one hour on AIR Leh and half an hour on AIR Kargil. He further requested for enhancement of time slot to three hours at both the stations. Request was also made to Doordarshan Leh for allocation of time slot for telecasting the lectures in Science and Math’s subjects.
He also gave details about the steps taken by School Education Department during lockdown period. An organization with the name of “EMBIBE BANGALORE” has been roped in for providing the online classes to the students of 11th and 12th through ‘webinar’ and they are providing it free of cost, he added.
