Advisor Khan takes stock of arrangements for passengers at Jammu Airport

JAMMU, May 29: Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Farooq Khan today took stock of the arrangements for registration and screening of inbound and outbound passengers at Jammu Airport which has recently resumed operations after relaxation in COVID-19 lockdown norms.
Advisor Khan while interacting with the screening and facilitation teams from different departments enquired about different processes vis-a-vis testing of passengers and their subsequent quarantine.
He was briefed that all the protocols and health guidelines are being followed at the airport, and was informed that all the air-bound passengers arriving at Jammu Airport are being kept in institutional quarantine before being tested for COVID -19.
The Health Department officials informed the Advisor that the test samples are being sent for testing and those passengers who are being tested negative are sent to home and if, otherwise, then to designated COVID-19 hospitals for treatment.
It was also given out that the administration also provides various accommodations for the inbound passengers besides transport facilities being provided in hassle free manner.
The Advisor was also informed that the passengers after disembarking at the Airport have to mandatory fill up their particulars in a form devised by the Indian Council of Medical Research after which their samples for Covid-19 test are being taken at Kiosks set up at the airport.
Besides, Advisor Khan took the tour of various sections of the Airport where incharge of Airport Security, Gurmit Singh informed him about the security, checking and identifying of passengers by CISF personnel deployed at the airport.
He appreciated the role played by health, transport, police, and other allied departments who work in close coordination with Airports Authority of India and CISF for facilitating smooth movement of passengers.
He also praised the service being rendered by staffs of different departments for their selfless services during the COVID-19 crisis and also thanked people for their cooperation during the lockdown period.
