Advisor Ganai takes stock of people’s grievances

*Takes serious note of illegal constructions

SRINAGAR, Oct 26: Advisor to Governor, Khurshid Ahmad Ganai today held a grievance redressal camp at Governor’s Grievance Cell, Church Lane, Sonawar.
As many as 300 people comprising 25 delegations and many more individuals visited the Cell and appraised Ganai about their issues. Plethora of issues regarding the development and other diurnal matters were brought into the notice of the Advisor for their resolution.
The delegations who called on Advisor during this day long camp include Tehsil Coordination Committee, Hajin. They demanded introduction of new streams of Science and Commerce subjects in the Degree College of their area, upgradation of CHC Hajin to Sub-District Hospital and Girls High School to Higher Secondary School.
One more delegation from Iqbal Colony, Budshah Nagar, Natipora raised the issue of making available to area the basic amenities like repairing of the Road, sanctioning of one more 150 KW power transformer and upgradation of drainage system in their area.
A delegation from Aanchar, Soura demanded cleansing of the lake and retrieving the encroached land of the lake from encroachers. Delegation from Nipora Qazigund raised issue of constructions near national highway in their area.
Delegations of Academic arrangement college teachers, Paramedics working on academic arrangement at Government Dental College, Srinagar, Workers of Pahalgam Golf Club, Casual Labourers of Pahalgam Development Authority and Landscape Workers of Floriculture Department requested for regularisation of their services.
A delegation of in-service Lab Assistants demanded promotion as teachers. Delegation of Municipality Workers from Shopian demanded their re-engagement in the department.
Moreover scores of individuals also visited the camp with their personal complaints. The Advisor listened to each of them very patiently and directed the relevant quarters for smooth and time-bound resolution of all the grievances raised during the camp.
Meanwhile Advisor Ganai conveyed his serious concern to the Deputy Commissioners of Anantnag and Kulgam when a delegation from Nipora, Ganiepora and Akhran of District Anantnag informed him about the illegal constructions on the National Highway.
The Advisor directed the Deputy Commissioners of Anantnag and Kulgam to visit the National Highway in their respective jurisdictions and have the illegal constructions and encroachments removed and warn the wrongdoers of strict action under law.
The Advisor also directed all other DCs in whose jurisdiction National Highway falls in the valley to step up vigilance through a moving squad of upright officials drawn from the Revenue and Police Departments to take immediate cognizance of illegal constructions and encroachments on the National Highway for action under law so that this trend is arrested and National Highway protected from such illegal constructions and encroachments.
