NEW DELHI, June 20: BJP patriarch L K Advani today met Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat here and discussed various issues including the elevation of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi as chairman of the party’s election campaign committee, sources said.
The sources said Mr Advani and Mr Bhagwat discussed the recent developments in the BJP and the JD(U)’s move to quit the NDA in the meeting which lasted for more than an hour.
The meeting was first between both after Mr Advani, who had also skipped the Goa executive meeting, had quit all party posts on June 10 reportedly in opposition to Mr Modi’s projection at the national level.
Mr Advani had withdrawn his resignation after intervention from the RSS chief.
Mr Modi had also met Mr Advani in the national capital on June 18.
