Advani for opening Ladakh route for Kailash Mansarovar yatra

LEH, June 23: BJP veteran and former Deputy Prime Minister LK Advani said today that it was his dream that devotees of Kailash Mansarovar yatra take Ladakh route instead of Nepal.
In a brief address to the gathering after inaugurating Sindhu Bhawan at Chagmalsar in Leh this evening, Advani, who was joined by his daughter Pratibha Advani, RSS leader Indresh Kumar and Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh, said presently the devotees of Kailash Mansarovar yatra had to take lengthy route via Nepal.
“It is my dream that Ladakh route is opened by China for Kailash Mansarovar pilgrims,” he said.
Advani, who will inaugurate `Sindhu Darshan Festival’ on the banks of river Sindh in Leh tomorrow morning, hoped that prominent Buddhist leader His Holiness Dalai Lama will join Sindhu Darshan Festival next year.
The state of the art Sindhu Bhawan, would provide all the requisite boarding and lodging facilities to the yatris coming for the Sindhu darshan festival. The festival  is organized every year drawing a large number of people from different parts of the country.
Minister for Ladakh Affairs and Cooperatives- Chhering Dorje, Chief Executive Councilor, Dr. Sonam  Dawa and Member of Parliament, Thupstan Chhewang were also present on the inaugural function.
