Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Nov 19: Strongly Condemning frequent cease fire violations by neighbouring country Pakistan on Line of Control (LoC) and International Border (IB), Ajay Kumar Sadhotra former Minister and senior leader of National Conference (NC) emphasized the need of adopting Vajpayee Doctrine for Truce on border. This is very sensitive matter and needs first attention of BJP Government.
National Conference senior leader termed it as sad, unfortunate and cowardice act that civilian population is being targeted by neighbouring country resulting in loss of life and property of poor unarmed border dwellers which is unethical. Moreover loss of brave Army personnel and injuring them is also very serious matter, he added.
The border dwellers are very brave and are like second defence line of the country. They stood like a rock in 1965 -1971 wars and de escalation on border. He further said the frequent shelling on border has about 1000 cease fire violations only during August to October 2019 made the life of border dwellers miserable and hell. They have been facing lot of difficulties. It has created atmosphere of uncertainty and Farmers and children are also badly suffering. Farmers can’t sow or harvest their agriculture land and children are facing difficulties to go to schools, even it is difficult to go to hospitals.
Vajpayee Government sensing sensitivity of the miseries of the border dwellers had taken effective diplomatic steps to have a truce on border so that border people could live peacefully, normal and progressive life, Sadhotra reminded. Instead of exploiting border people for vote politics, BJP Government at the Centre should adopt Vajpayee doctrine and give top most priority to ensure that permanent truce on border is maintained at all costs so that border dwellers could take a sigh of relief, N C leader demanded.
