JAMMU, Aug 18: Jagti inmates and KP youth in a meeting today held under the chairmanship of Sunil Pandita have demanded that the pattern of providing domicile certificates for other residents of J&K be adopted for Kashmiri Pandits living in various camps at Jammu and non camp areas as well.
In a statement issued here, the meeting made an appeal to the Revenue authorities as well as Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner in this regard and urged them to adopt the procedure of providing the domicile certificates to Kashmiri migrants through mobile system in camps and non camp localities so that they don’t face problems and harassment in getting the certificates.
The meeting was also addressed by patron of the organization P L Thusu who made an appeal to all KP bodies to take up the issue with Government jointly as community people are facing hardships in getting their domicile certificates.
The meeting said that it is very difficult for the camp inmates of Jagti, Nagrota and Purkhoo to reach Shanker Building near Tope bridge in getting the formalities completed when the transport facilities are not available. Besides, the migrants putting up at Udhampur, Bari Brahmana, Sarore, R S Pura and other places also face such problem due to non availability of transport facilities.
