KATHUA, Feb 9: The district administration Kathua retrieved five Kanals of encroached land of Old Canal at Khorate More and demolished the illegal structure raised by a land encroacher.
The Deputy Commissioner, Kathua, Rohit Khajuria deputed a team accompanied by ACR Jatinder Misra, Tehsildar Avtar Singh , AEE of Irritation Department and officers of Municipal Council Kathua with JCB to remove the illegal structure constructed on the State land belonging to Irrigation Department.
The Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Jatinder Misra told that the State land belongs to Irrigation Department of old Kashmir Canal which was lying defunct. This five canals of land was allotted to State Bank of India for construction of Training Institute .
But it was encroached by land encroacher and administration took strong action to retrieve it. He said that some more land is under the illegal possessions of encroachers on Old Kashmir canal site. The administration will also take steps to retrieve remaining land shortly.
