He said the 27 kanal of the prime land on National Highway at Vijaypur which has a market value of Rs 5 crore was encroached by a retired Government officer after laying the boundary wall and raising the plinth over it.
But after the administration came to know that the land belonged to the Government it did not lose any time in action and retrieved the land by installing a Board over it naming it as Government land.
Mr Varma said the administration is going to retrieve more land in the district wherever it will come to know that the State land has been encroached by mafia.
He said in this regard the district administration has constituted a Committee to identify the areas where the land has been encroached by the mafia. Whenever the administration gets the information it without losing any time will act to retrieve the encroached land by launching the operation.
