MENDHAR, Feb 4: As the whole of India is reeling under the threat of spread of deadly coronavirus, the administration is least bothered about the health of the people living here.
As per reports, heaps of garbage has accumulated around the drinking water tank of Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department at Revenue Colony here which clearly indicates about the outbreak of any epidemic at any time and callousness of the administration.
According to a local Aziz Kohli, drinking water is being supplied from this water tank in Mohallah Gold, Mohallah Mustanpur and their surrounding areas.
“Heaps of garbage around the water tank depicts the callousness of the concerned department”, he added.
“No cleaning around the water tank is being carried out by the concerned department despite several reminders’, Kohli said, adding that due to callousness of the concerned department, the families residing in Mohallah Gold, Mohallah Mustanpur and their surrounding areas are living under great threat of falling into the trap of any health hazard.
The leaked water pipes in the water tank have developed algae and fungus, but administration remains adamant on its apathetic attitude, Kohli stated.
He appealed to the concerned department to carry out cleanliness drive around this water tank so that safe and clean drinking water is being supplied to the households.
When contacted, Tehsildar Dr Vikram Kumar told the EXCELSIOR that when the matter came to his notice, the directions were passed to the PHE Department authorities to carrying out cleanliness drive around the water tank.
“PHE Department is also directed to maintain sanitization around the water tank so that safe and secure drinking water is being supplied to the households”, he added.
