JAMMU, Nov 18: All Displaced Kashmiri United Forum (ADKUF) in a meeting held here today under the leadership of D N Kissu its chairman discussed various problems being faced by displaced Pandits.
The meeting while debating over the pros and cons of PM’s package for the displaced people expressed the hope that immediate steps will be taken up in implementation of employment package which is hanging in balance for last eight years now and the announcement made by Mr Modi in this regard should not meet the same fate which the announcement made by former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh met as the then State Government showed no interest in the implementation of the same in letter and spirit.
The meeting further demanded that the interviews and examinations for these posts be held at Jammu.
The meeting also demanded issuance of balance ex-gratia lying with the Government and also payment of ex-graria to those houses which were damaged in last 26 years due to rain and snow. It also demanded constitution of Inquiry Commission to probe and fix responsibility for the genocide of KPs.
The meeting reiterated that settlement of KPs is a political issue and it can only be met by addressing geo-political aspirations of the community. It said the rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits a religious minority is not possible without their political empowerment and demanded that Pandits be declared internally displaced persons.
It demanded immediate issuance of APL ration cards and alleged that 25 percent families are without ration. Those who addressed included Prof G L Koul chief advisor of the Forum its president P L Sudeshi, C L Koul, vice president, P N Riana, general secretary, Balji Bhat, Phoola Ji Bhat, N N Raina, C L Zutshi and Nana Ji.
