JAMMU, Oct 23: A meeting of All Displaced Kashmiri United Forum (ADKUF) was held under the chairmanship of D N Kissu its chairman here, today in which grave concern was expressed over the Government’s stoic silence on rehabilitation of KPs which seems to have been shelved now.
Forum appealed that the Government to initiate the process of rehabilitation of KPs at a single place in Valley without further delay. It also reiterated its demand that the displaced community should be declared an ethnic minority in accordance with international norms.
It alleged that ration supply against some APL cards has been stopped to the displaced families without any reason. The Relief Commissioner and Minister PDS had assured that the ration supply will be restored immediately and additional quantity of sugar will also be given in view of Diwali festival but there can be no example of inaction and discrimination that neither the ration nor sugar was issued whereas additional sugar was given to entire populace and displaced community was singled out.
The Minister had also assured that the new ration cards will be issued to all displaced families but the same has not  been issued till date.
Forum also condemned the stone throwing incident on minority community in Valley during Diwali celebrations showing radicalisation and height of intolerance of majority community there. Forum also warned the Government that in light of latest episode against which Dharna was   held in Muthi camp, some antisocial and antinational elements are hell bent upon disturbing communal harmony in State always targeting Minority community and these elements should be dealt with heavy hand before the circumstances take an ugly turn.
It said PM’s employment package for displaced community has inordinately been delayed and Forum requested the Government that it should be implemented in letter and spirit by filling remaining posts immediately. Forum also requested the Government for providing accommodation to all migrant employees in Valley.
To strengthen unity among displaced community, the Forum has decided to hold a convention in near future in which the sufferings of displaced community and the problems faced will be kept before masses and the Government.
Among others PL Sudeshi, Phoola Ji Bhat, ML Pandita, Prof GL Koul, CL Koul,  BN Bhat, PN Raina, CL Zutshi, NN Dhar and PL Razdan also addressed the meeting.
