ADGP reviews security scenario along IB, inter-state borders

KATHUA, Feb 9: ADGP Security, Law & Order, HG, CD and SDRF J&K Muneer Ahmad Khan reviewed security scenario along International Border (IB) and inter-state borders, here today.
During his visit here, he interacted with territorial officers and took stock of the present scenario with regards to maintenance of law and order and security of the area.
SSP Kathua welcomed all the participating officers and briefed ADGP about the security measures taken up to secure international and inter-state borders. He stated that inter-state checkpoints at strategic locations have been established and foolproof border security grid is in place along international border.
ADGP also chaired meeting with the officers of the inter-state border districts Chamba (HP) and Pathankot Punjab.
In the meeting, Shridhar Patil, SSP Kathua, Monika SP Chamba, Hempushap Sharma SP (Ops) Pathankot and district territorial officers were present.
During the meeting, ADGP emphasized for strong mechanism among inter-state districts for free, fair and peaceful conduct of forthcoming elections in Jammu and Kashmir.
He further highlighted issues like illegal movement of illicit liquor, cash, arms and ammunition and criminals in poll bound areas across the inter-state borders and sealing of inter-state borders which needs to be checked.
He also advised the officers for abrupt sharing of intelligence and stressed for all possible support from adjoining state as well as interstate districts to poll bound area.
