JAMMU, Apr 28: ADGP Armed/Law & Order, Jammu & Kashmir, Vijay Kumar, today visited the Mountain Rescue Team (MRT) of the J&K Police and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) personnel currently in training at Nud Samba.
The visit was especially relevant as preparations are underway for the upcoming 2024 Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra.
During his interaction, the ADGP engaged in detailed discussions with the key members of the JKP MRT, emphasizing the need for meticulous planning and improved effectiveness in their operations.
Under the supervision of Inspector Ram Singh, who leads the JKP MRT, the team is actively conducting training for NDRF personnel. This training includes mountain climbing, search and rescue operations, and practical demonstrations, particularly focusing on the rescue of civilians from avalanches and other disasters.
The event was attended by notable officials including Rashmi Wazir, CO IRP-12th Battalion, Shahzad Ahmad Salaria, SSP APCR Jammu, Vinay Kumar, SSP Samba, and Kuldeep Handoo, DySP (Sports) APHQ J&K. These engagements highlight the ongoing efforts to bolster disaster response capabilities in the region.
