Jammu, Jan 29: Continuing its efforts to foster public relations, Jammu and Kashmir Police flagged off another group of students from different parts of the state participating in ‘Apna Watan Jano’ tour organized J&K Police under its Civic Action programme (CAP).
A group of eighty students from different districts of the State that include Samba, Jammu, Rajouri, Kupwara, Ganderbal and Anantnag was flagged off today by Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Armed J&K, S. M. Sahai at J&K Police Auditorium at Gulshan Ground here.
Speaking on the occasion, ADGP Armed said, “The ten-day-long ‘Apna Watan Jano’ tour has been organized by Jammu and Kashmir Police to provide participants an insight into rich and diverse cultural heritage of the country. This will help to widen their horizons and invoke thoughts making them better competitors.”
“The students will also get an opportunity to visit Parliament to get an idea about the administrative mechanism of the state of India. They will meet Union Human Resource Development Minister Smriti Irani and other dignitaries of the host states”, he added.
The ADGP said that during the tour the students will be visiting places of cultural, historical, educational, economic and religious importance in Delhi, Chandigarh, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh.
IGP Jammu Zone, Danish Rana and IGP IRP Jammu Youginder Koul also interacted with the students before flag off.
Earlier Commandant JKAP 9th Battallion, Zubair Ahmad Khan gave details of the ten-day-long tour programme.
