JAMMU, Mar 1: Addl. DGP Armed J&K, S.M.Sahai addressed a Darbar of officers and jawans of IRP 10th Battalion today at District Police Lines Jammu.
While addressing officers and jawans of the unit Mr. Sahai asked them that they should feel free to disclose any problem being faced by them while performing their official duties besides their genuine personal grievances. He asked them to contribute their best to the society and the organization on their part and assured them that department is always there to lookafter their problems.
A number of jawans expressed their problems before the ADGP and requested for transfers to the Bns. stationed near their home location. The ADGP patiently heard the problems of the jawans, considered their genuine requests and issued on spot transfer orders on compassionate grounds.
Mr Sahai stressed upon the concerned controlling officers to take care of the welfare of their subordinates. He asked the officers to conduct periodical Darbars and regular interactions with the jawans and provide them frequent opportunities to express their personal as well as official problems being faced by them in day to day functioning.
Mr Sahai directed the concerned commandant to remain available round the clock to give patient hearing to the problems of jawans so that they do not feel isolated. “We are here to lookafter your welfare and we expect you to deliver your services efficiently and effectively”, he added.
The ADGP exhorted upon the officers to remain vigilant and cautious to ensure foolproof security of complexes being guarded or housed in by their men by following guidelines issued by Police Headquarters from time to time in letter and sprit. He asked the controlling officers to put effective security measures in place to avoid any untoward incident.
Among others the Darbar was attended by DIG AP Jammu K. L. Bhagat, Commandant IRP 10th Bn. Vijay Kumar, SSP APCR Jammu Sham Sunder Sharma, SO to ADGP Armed Zahid Manhas and Inspector Personnel Liyaqat Qadri.
